The California Depatment of Insurance can be reached at 916-322-3555 or 1-800-967-9331 7am to 4pm. The Department of Insurance website is: www.insurance.ca.gov. The Deptartment of Insurance recently changed the layout of of their website and where CE classes are posted on your license. Here are step-by-step directions to find your CE credits on your license with the Deptartment of Insurance.
Once on the Deptartment of Insurance website (www.insurance.ca.gov), click “check license status” at the top of the page, then click “license number”, enter your license number and click “submit query”. You will now see your name and license number, click on the link which is your “license number” and your name and address will appear. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on “continuing education”. At the top of this page your name and license number will appear, just below that you will read “Total Continuing Education CE for this renewal period” and then you will see a link which reads “View CE Detail”, click on that link. Now you will see a list of all CE courses you have completed. This is where you will see both the LTC and Partnership courses you have completed. Please note, Partnership courses are not listed at the bottom of the page under “Long-Term care”, they are listed at the top of the page under “Total Continuing Education”.
It is the Agent's responsibility to know when they need to renew CE courses, if they are repeating a course number and how to read their Continuing Education Credits on their license.
If you have further questions, we recommend that contact the DOI directly. The phone number for the Producer License Bureau is (916) 322-3555 or (800) 967-9331.
